Christina Oil

*UPDATED* I worked on the painting a little more.  Here is what I came up with.

Wow, do I love this girl.  When I paint her face I get the opportunity to explore her incredible beauty. I’m in love.

I did this painting in one sitting (alla prima) and it was fantastic! Below I have some my progress, just so you can see how I build and layer these paintings.  I start off with value and slowly add color.  As you can see me initial painting had some major problems with the drawing.  This always adds so much work at the end, so if you can avoid it, start off with a solid drawing. The painting took about 3 hours.

Nice! You must have spent a lot of the time on the eyes, because they look amazing.
    Good work friend.

Thanks bud. Her eyes are the best part of her face. I really wanted to focus on them.
I also updated the painting…I couldn’t help but work on it some more.

Simply amazing sir! You are one talented artist!

  4. Van Gogh said it best with “Instead of trying to reproduce exactly what I see before me, I make more arbitrary use of color to express myself more forcefully.”

  5. the good thing about oil paintings is that they last very long, they can even last for generations ::~
