A Gnome works at our Pub. Yes, it is true.  Just last night, as I was patiently waiting for my tea, I happen to hear a rather strange noise behind me.  I turn to see a rather stout looking fellow, who was in fact a gnome.  This of course gave me quite the fright as in the course of this natural world, I am not accustomed to such a fantastical meeting.  The second strange aspect of this meeting was due to the rather rude manner in which the gnome grunted and slammed down the delivered drink on the table.  Before, I could say a word the gnome vanished back to his duties behind the bar.  As odd as his behavior may have come across our bartender Hans, claims his behavior is quite normal.  I urge each of my readers to be on the look out at Brigid’s Cross, for our not so friendly gnome bartender.  Keep in mind that he may indeed be a rather intriguing acquaintance, but may not present the best manners.  What a rather unusual night at the pub. Luckily, Hans was there to bring me my tea.

Ok ok…yes I know.  I’m not a fan of Paul Bunyan at all, especially since he is all over the place here in the north western part of Minnesota, and no one knows really anything about him.  And he cuts down trees.  I’m surprised his anti environmental behavior is tolerated. Anywho, These character designs were for a client.  However, they were not used, so I thought you may want to see them.

So I really enjoy sketching at the pub while hanging out with my mates.  Ben has a very cartoony face…thus I must draw him.  I have been away from the blog for quite some time due to craziness of getting married (which is awesome.) Keep your eyes peeled for some work from my honeymoon.

Hey friends!  I just spent the weekend at Trout Lake Camp where we had tons of fun with campers and family.  A last minute sketch of King Josiah turned into a coloring project for 47, 6 to 9 year olds.  Here is the sketch the kids colored!

While I was on the phone I drew this porcupine.  It was a tough conversation.

Look out for pirates!  These nasty guys are certainly not friendly chaps.  As I continue to think of the Woodland Fairies project, characters keep popping in my head!  I think this duo will be quite fun. As you can see I’m messing about with textures and colors.  I don’t want this project to have super saturated lively colors.  The pirates are mean, and their color palette needs to reflect that.
